If he thought about it, he could see both sides. Unlife went on, but large parts of that were gone now. Distractions were probably needed, though. How long did it take to find something new to replace what was lost? It seemed... callous, but wasn't what Anastasia had been, what she represented and took care of needed? Vampires seemed to be, from what he'd seen, mostly about the blood, power and sex. Of course, the later bit was a more recent experience for him.
That was obvious enough. In the small amount of time they had been together, Joseph had broken open Rhys' world, or at least, what he thought it was. Had brought him out of his shell quite a bit. He was more comfortable in his own skin and a good deal of that was credited to him. The fledgling would have gotten there, eventually, with what he'd had, but the help his lover had brought was indescribably important to that part.
At first, his only response to the rest was a blink but it was closely followed by a suppressed laugh, biting his lower lip to keep from full out laughing. It was the perfect pairing for the both of them. "At least you took responsibility..." Out of all the outfits he'd worn, even the one he'd worn to the Succubus Club, that one had been his favorite. He could add some things, here and there to it, and not wear the jacket. The shirt on it's own was something else and though he was still iffy on the fact it showed off as much as it did, he kind of really liked it.
There was a soft sincere smile on his lips, something he couldn't help himself with, when he leaned down that extra little bit to kiss Joseph, something sweet. It wasn't something that matched the playful mood but it wouldn't last very long. "Y-You'd be the most handsome devil there."
