If Rhys thought anyone would be paying attention to anything but blood and sex, he was sorely missing the point of the party. Which was part of the reason Joseph didn't want to go. It was grossly disrespectful to those who had been lost and whistling through the graveyard about them not having another Elysium almost a month after the last one had been destroyed.
But it was being hosted by the Toreador Primogen and if he didn't show, he could lose the support of one of his allies on the court. Joseph had always gotten on with the Roses for obvious reasons and being one of the few Brujah with any position left in the city, his place was more precarious than he wanted to admit. So offending Marceline by skipping her party or openly protesting it wasn't happening.
Joseph was beginning to see why so many of his clan had told the Camarilla to piss off. But he had doubts the Anarchs were any better. Kindred as a whole were a lot of suspicious, prickly predators trying badly to play nicely with each other. But he was still getting frustrated with all of it and it was making his mood terrible.
He planned to get very wrapped up in his lover and ignore what was going on at the party until they could leave without looking in too much of a hurry to leave. Joseph was still cross enough he was still considering dressing as the Red Death. Just to make a statement about how he felt about the entire business.
"I am always interested in introducing you to new experiences, love," Joseph teased as he leaned into Rhys' hand. It was tempting to turn his face and bury his fangs into the flesh of his lover's palm, pull the Beast in the young Tremere closer to the surface and see how adventurous he was feeling. Bloody stupid blood bond business.
"You should wear that outfit you wore our first night," he suggested with a grin. "We'll get you a black feathered mask. You can be a fallen angel." Joseph shifted, moving so he was half in Rhys' lap and their faces close together. His grin got even more wicked if that was possible. "And I'll be the charming devil who corrupted you."
