It seemed like as soon as October was going to start, everything hit the fan. For all the kindred he knew and didn't. The whole city was feeling it. Like a lot of them, Rhys didn't personally know how upsetting it was to lose what they lost at the very beginning of the month, but he could tell from the reactions of everyone. There had been thoughts of trying to measure it out, find a way to understand how deep it went, but after Henry, maybe he did understand a little bit.
Setting his book fully aside when Joseph laid across his lap, long fingers immediately weaved themselves through wavy hair. One hand through there, while the other settled across his chest, making little motions like he was petting him. Soothing him the best he could. Why did it make him smile to hear his lover growl? It had to be just because he was being a little bit cute. In this instance, anyway.
Before meeting Garnet, he hadn't put much thought into the warning of how Toreadors would react around him. So far, she was the only one he'd formally met and knew, but even he could notice the interest. Was he something that was whispered about, truly?
