Ariel was not entirely unaware of what the wolf he ran with was doing. Yes, he snapped at the doe and they worked to tire it, flush it out... But Rook seemed to be fighting phantoms as well. Ariel wasn't ready to stop just yet but he kept an eye on the other. But whatever Rook was distracted with was just the opening the doe required and it bounded off into the trees, eyes wide with panic as it went.
And Rook dropped.
The younger Gangrel wove his way through the trees over to Rook. He whuffled his ear and then settled in beside him on the ground. His head rested heavily on the back of Rook's shoulders, hoping his weight would be a comfort. It was alright. Ariel was here. They didn't need to chase the deer if it was too much.
