Joseph hadn't wanted to assume, since he'd already trod rather heavily on the sheriff's toes in regards to Rhys. The Tremere were known for being very close ranks and ritualistic. He had no idea if there was some sort of procedure or if the danger from Sethius increased if he no longer had crossing Henry Stokes to be concerned about.
He nodded at Amadeus' words. "All right," he agreed softly. He hadn't liked how the young Tremere had felt cold to the touch and shivered. It was probably whatever blood magic they'd used. He wanted to bundle Rhys up and take him home, but Amadeus had asked Rhys if he wanted to remain his ward. It was not Joseph's decision to make.
