There had been a look, before Joseph had left, that clearly stated the sentiment that Rhys had wanted to say out loud. Sooner, rather than later, he hoped, he'd have his answer on his sire's fate and they could go home together again. A part of him wished he could just hold onto the older man, but he knew better. This was magic business and not for his lover's eyes. Would it always be like that? It would they be able to share what his mentor and Ariel did? Maybe. Someday. If everything was moonshine and rainbows. Rhys could only hope.
There was a little more of a serious mood in him, even when Amadeus tried to joke with him. The eating question was almost still a sire subject when it came to him mad the older Tremere, but Rhys managed to ignore the little bubble of panic in his throat.
"I've been eating really well." It was true. Ever since he'd left this house, he hadn't had a bag of blood. He still had issues with taking too much, but he was doing his best to work on that. Joseph never was that far away when he fed, or Bruno. Just in case. Even during the nights after the fire, when he'd used all that magic, he had managed not to frenzy. "I fed before we came so I wouldn't-" he paused, chewing on the inside corner of his mouth before he continued, looking away for a moment. "... You know... I'll be okay."
How embarrassing would it be if, after all this, he lost himself during one ritual? "I'm ready to start." Off of his finger came Henry's ring. He'd been wearing it all this time, ever since his first date, and hadn't really ever taken it off. It had made him feel better, more sure of his new life, but it still belonged to the man who'd embraced him. He'd cupped it in his hands, almost as if it was an offering, towards Amadeus. Something that belonged to the one to be contacted.
