Amadeus considered the question before he answered. Being loyal to the Camarilla didn't automatically make one loyal to whoever ruled the city. Sometimes being loyal to the Camarilla meant going against a Prince you saw as unfit to lead the rest and to uphold the Traditions. "I don't think it's likely. I know it's likely. It's what I would do if I was going after the Prince to discredit him." Which was one of the reasons Lucian had approached Amadeus about being Sheriff and it wasn't just because having an elder Tremere as one terrified most Kindred. Amadeus knew how to play the game and how to move the pieces on the board which meant he knew how those who'd go against Lucian would think.
Which presented another problem Amadeus realized. With the possibility of this being done to discredit the Prince and the new network, if they caught them and brought them before Prince and the Primogens then others would learn what happened. "Which changes the plan. They can't leave down here alive." Amadeus' job was to uphold the Traditions, make sure there was justice, but more often than not he also a glorified janitor cleaning up messes and this was a mess that needed to be fixed. "If we took them back to be made an example of it could backfire because then it would be confirmed that it wasn't just a glitch in the system."
