Who: Connie & Cian
What: The Aftermath
When: October 4th
Where: Malk House, back deck
Warnings: Description of a hanged person. Also smoochin'
There were almost no secrets in Malk House, as they had all seemed to mentally start calling it. Connie knew that Cian had broken up with Tris. He knew that Julian had eaten Dorian and the blood hunt was long since over. He knew that Chiyu was breaking more and more every night. With the disaster and the work that had followed it, there hadn't been much free time for the Confluence as he had fought to wipe the internet of any reference of Kindred and the fire. He had redirected so many things, scrubbed tweets and Facebook posts. It was an overwhelming amount of work. Occasionally, he worried that he might have missed something but he didn't think so.
There had been a moment when Connie had been working that Cian had come into his office and just sat on the floor next to him. He had pet the Elder's hair but was too busy to stop and talk to him, even telepathically. Still, he had appreciated the company and knowing that Cian, the brand new hound, had come home safe if not sooty and a little crisp. The problem for the Confluence was that he hadn't had a chance to process everything himself. It had all been neatly tucked away in a box in the corner of his mind but the box had started to strain the day before and he knew a flood was coming.
That was why, when he had awoken that evening, he had just gotten a blood bag, wrapped himself in a blanket (despite not needing one), and stepped outside. He had settled on a cushion from one of the deck chairs, sitting on the cold brick of the 'deck'. Now, the blood bag was empty and just laying on the ground. His eyes were closed and his face angled towards the sky. He hadn't felt like this since his mother had been dangled off their balcony for the mob below. Just so overwhelmed and unable to focus and so, so small. The box had opened and he had shut down.
