Yes. Yes he did know. Joseph wasn't really alone in that sentiment, though. If there had been a bed, instead of an almost full tub of hot water behind them, he might have pushed him. It really wouldn't do for the other man to crack his head open if he lost his balance because of it. It wouldn't be a thing like it would be for kine, sure, but it would hurt any kind of mood.
Rhys just couldn't imagine his lover being useless. He'd said he was, had described some of it, sure, but he just couldn't see it at all. That might have been because he saw him as he was now instead of then, but even so. The mention of Henry had him looking down, uncurling one of his hands. Maybe... maybe Henry had seen his potential after all, then, when no one else did back then. How long had he let that thought get to him? What would he even be able to do in all that time? He wouldn't be close to Amadeus' level, sure, but the idea was something like a call to action. "We'll have to see..."
