Ash & Rook
He wished Rook had just closed his eyes or taken the raven form. Ash felt bad that he had practically forced the wolf on his lover - again. It wasn't right. It wasn't fair. Then again, none of this was. But it was especially unfair to Rook who could do little more than watch and wait and hope.
Still, the presence of the wolf did a bit to add to his forming legend. What stories they would tell, these kine. There was only a moment when he flinched as the building collapsed but he gathered himself back up, pressed down the horror and agony to keep his control over the kine for as long as he could. He whispered words, suggesting all would be well while weaving subtle manipulations into them. There were no bodies to find, nothing out of the ordinary.
He managed to hold them just long enough for the hounds and the victims and everything else to be taken care of. And then he collapsed.
