Ash & Rook
Rook was right and Ash knew it. There was nothing he could do for Anastasia or the people trapped inside. He didn't have the power to face the flame. And for a moment, he was frozen, watching the building burn and fewer Kindred come out of it. Only the hounds now, doing what they could. He was just in hearing distance for one suggestion - a Toreador to distract the rescue workers.
That, he could do.
"Not yet, there's one thing I can do," there were words underneath those ones that echoed close your eyes. Numbly, he slipped away from Rook and his tender care, mading his way towards the gathering sirens. Police, firemen, EMTs - so many. They just needed a momentary distraction while the others cleared the way of Kindred. But Ash, at the moment, did not have the kind of control or finesse needed.
He knew Rook was following but he hoped his lover heeded his warning. "Can I have your attention please?" he didn't have to be able to speak up. It was like a beat on the air that got dozens of heads turning towards him... And then he was like a beacon. Once again, he was God - the all-consuming, forbiddingly beautiful light that made kine fall to their knees. Some screamed. Some prayed. One or two seemed more keen on scratching their own eyes out because maybe they were seeing something forbidden nevermind how beautiful it was. When it came to kine, there was little resistance to be had - not like the Anarchs where a few of their number had escaped unscathed.
The Nosferatu hound had wanted a distraction - she had certainly gotten one.
