After several blocks and the ferry, Cian managed to get a car to take him to the outer limits of the meat packing district, taking to foot the moment he got out. He remembered the last time he'd been here, meeting his favorite housemate for the first time, and the sheer force of the fire took him aback, almost making him hesitate. Old men tended to catch on fire pretty easily.
It wasn't something he thought about after looking around, seeing a few familiar faces coming in and out, helping people get away from the building. Closing his eyes, Cian let go of Auspex again, but this time, he made sure to keep more control instead of just letting go and seeing the rope fly away. Opening them again, he stepped up to the flames and went inside, grabbing the first two people he saw just a moment before a chunk of beam fell right where they had been.
It went on like this, avoiding flame and debris alike to grab whoever he could. Even so, the heat licked at his exposed skin because, for once, he wasn't wearing his leather jacket. It wasn't enough to make him recoil, yet, so he went as deep as he could. If anyone had told him he was going to be rescuing people from a fire, he would have literally laughed, but here he was. Thanks to the power and the whispers in his ear, he was able to find people a little more quickly than even he could have hoped. None of them would come out of this unscathed...
