Ash & Rook
The moment that Rook heard that the Blue Velvet was on fire all he could think about was Ash. There had only been a moment of relief when he saw that his mate had made it out though because he noticed that while he was out, he was trying to get back out. Rook had caught him just in time and had refused to let go of him. Even now Rook held him with a vice grip to keep him from doing just that.
"Ash. Ash, you can't," the Gangrel pleaded as he tried to pull him back away from the building. What if it ended up exploding instead of just falling in on itself as it burned? It was almost a relief when Ash finally collapsed so that Rook was able to lift him up into his arms and move him to someplace safer and out of the way.
Once they were, Rook found a bench to sink down on so that he could hold Ash. He knew the soothing croons he offered were likely not even noticed by his mate but he offered them just the same as his own heart broke for him. What would it be like if that had been Mab instead? He couldn't even begin to imagine.
