"I'm a Malkavian, Rhys," Julian pointed out as if that explained it all when he mentioned being fragile. With anyone else, it might of but considering the young Tremere's only run-in with the clan so far had been with Tristian, Julian also knew it didn't. "I know I'm doing a pretty good job of pretending to be sane right now, but we're all broken. Some of us are much more fragile pieces than others." He and Connie seemed to break the easiest but they had also both already been so fragile before this life hadn't they?
Hmmm. Julian supposed it was good that Rhys was already beginning to feel those things. It would help when his mentor undoubtedly ended up picking his own lover over his ward. Maybe not much but it was there. And oh, how his mentor would. That was inevitable just as were the things that Rhys figured would be expected of him.
"You may not have much to offer now, but you will. A Tremere who is being taught by the second most powerful warlock in New York?" Julian smirked. "Someone would have snatched you up sooner or later. And yes, life among the court eye will be much different than if you continued to be hidden away."
