There was something in that question that made Rhys look down and away. He knew, in part, what it would be about, but the how or what would be said to him was unknown. Every night, every new social interaction, he was reminded how little he knew about the world, kindred or kine. If there had been a manual on how to survive the life he'd been brought into, he would have read it already. Maybe then, he could have had some type of clue. What was it that Henry was planning on teaching him before leaving him? Why had he gone at all with him unprotected this way? The house had been warded but what after that?
It certainly seemed that way, didn't it? When it was just Amadeus, he was at least able to still hide in Henry's haven, away from the meat of kindred society. But that wouldn't have gone on forever, and Rhys knew that. Eventually, he would have been pulled out of that house and out into the night. Even without Joseph this would have been brought on. Or maybe it wouldn't have and he would have been 'unmade'. Either by the life or something else.
He didn't think Joseph was coddling him, but it was hard to see things from the inside. From all he knew, maybe it wasn't just about him, alone. But... didn't everyone want to protect their loved ones? "What perspective?" He had an idea of the literal meaning behind those words but whether this would be advice on how to survive it all or something else? Green eyes rose up, to look back at Julian, but more towards his hair than in the eye.
