The concerns were probably a bit different, but Rhys did see it from his point of view. For him, Joseph was strong and could fight through a crowd if he so wished, but the younger kindred wouldn't have that same kind of chance. If Bruno had that same ability to fight, he could understand why the ghoul was sent to and fro with him. Maybe if he spent more time with Mab, and now Amadeus, he could become stronger with magic and have just as much of a chance. He could fight for the people he cared for, too. Protect them, even.
The thought almost made him smile.
The end of the world - everyone had a different myth going along with it, but it didn't have to be the very end to all of their lives. In some ways, it could mean a great changing... like the broken Pyramid. If he held onto that thought, instead of the doom and gloom? But that wouldn't quite be him. A flame of anxiety lit in his stomach and he could feel it trying to work through his body. "I'll try to... to fight, too." Whether Henry came back or not, he had everyone else around him, pushing him forward and strengthening him. The least he could do was try.
Reaching up, he let his fingers trail over the other man's cheek, a light but connecting touch. There was still the worry on his face, of course. He couldn't hid what those words did to him. How long until it all became real?
