Rhys stilled his motions when Joseph continued, his voice quieter than it had been before. He could only wonder at the reason for that, but if he really had to guess? Maybe no one really asked him about his work. It would make sense, he guessed. Only a naive fledgling would ask a question like that, one that didn't know about the court or it's workings. Maybe there were others that didn't know, either, but it seemed like everyone else around him knew. Then again, his main point of contact was also a part of said court.
As for enemies, that was another thing he remembered his mentor bringing up. Not that he was exactly listening to that part of the conversation. Of course. He was too busy letting his thoughts and feelings get away with him. As a Marquess, Joseph can offer you protection that you'd be hard-pressed to find anywhere else.
Adjusting himself a bit, he made to look up at Joseph, rolling his face to the side a bit. "That makes me worry for you." It wasn't a sentiment that he'd said out loud, himself, but something the older kindred had to him. But it really was something that matched his clan. Being a rebel, going down fighting if he had to go at all. Even though he hadn't seen anything other than that anger almost overwhelming his lover, he could imagine it.
