Amadeus watched Rhys rub his neck with a knowing look. It was definitely time for that Tremere to Tremere talk that he figured that he had time to worry about it. There were a lot of things the Elder figured he had time to worry about later but it seemed that was not the case. Of course, it wasn't as if he had discouraged Joseph's attentions toward the boy. The opposite in fact. Now though Amadeus had to wonder if this is how parents felt sitting their children down for the sex talk.
A three hundred and thirty-five-year-old Kindred should not be having to have the vampire version of the sex talk with his ward yet here he was about to do that. Once he got some other Tremere stuff out of the way.
"First off, our clan is highly protective of its secrets. Everything you learn that has to do with blood magic or our ways should not be discussed outside of other Tremere. Discussing such things in general with others," with Joseph was left unsaid but heavily implied, "is a bit taboo. So don't." He knew how hypocritical that sounded given that Ariel was sitting right there. "I am telling you this more for your safety than I am to protect clan secrets. Because, yes, Ariel knows more than he should. I've taken no measures to keep things from him but that is a risk I take fully knowing the fall out should it become known how much I have been sharing. You are not in such a position to be taking such a risk. Fledglings have been—unmade for it."
He didn't point out that it was also because right now the situation between himself and Ariel was different than Rhys' currently undefied one with the Marquess of Hell's Kitchen. Okay, maybe it was a tiny bit hypocritical considering he hadn't even tried to keep anything from Ariel as they had jumped into things blindly and so quickly. Whatever. The difference still remained that Amadeus could afford to do that. Rhys could not.
Now it was time to deal with the other thing. Amadeus' looked pointedly at Rhys' neck again. "Joseph fed from you last night. I'm assuming you did the same. Did he explain to you what a blood bond is?"
