Amadeus' eyes smiled back as he looked back at Ariel. It's all it had been was a leap of faith for them. They had jumped in knowing they were being stupid and crazy but look how far it had gotten them. But he was also aware that they were the exception, not the rule. Kindred so rarely found what they did. It was something Amadeus was not going to point out. He had stomped on Rhys' dreams enough for one night. Even he had that much of a heart left to feel bad about it.
"If Henry comes back and sees you are not here then he'll do the same thing any reasonable person would do and ask to find out what happened to you. And since one of those people he'd think to ask would be the Sheriff, there wouldn't be a problem would there?"
It all came down to the fact that Rhys couldn't hide here anymore. It was doing more damage than anything. "I'm not going to make the decision for you Rhys. It's time to start making those on your own. But neither can I allow you to keep staying here alone. You're too young and I shouldn't have in the first place."
