"Do you," Amadeus asked. He wasn't saying it to be mean. It was just in between Rhys having to be confronted by not only his own beast but Amadeus and Ariel's as well at the Succubus Club and the things Joseph had brought up, Amadeus had become painfully aware of the disservice he had done Rhys by not tossing him in headfirst into Kindred culture.
He had already admitted once tonight that he was partially at fault here. He was not doing it twice. Besides, he was blaming this one on Mab for leaving him unattended at the Blue Velvet. Though even then he was hard-pressed to blame her because who could have counted on him catching Joseph's eye.
There was also the fact that he was sorely worried that Rhys had done gone and built up some romantic idea about Joseph after last night.
"As a Marquess, Joseph can offer you protection that you'd be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Even outside my own since Joseph doesn't have nearly the amount of enemies as I do. And there are things he can teach you—both inside and outside the bedroom. Understand though, that he does have a reputation and affection among Kindred, especially the court, can be fleeting."
