It really didn't surprise him all that much that Mab had talked to Amadeus about what had happened, what had been said, but he was almost glad about it. "I should have come to you." It was why he had put it above the part of exposure in his apology. One he felt had been him rattling on. He had called, but that hadn't really been the same. He was already halfway in the hole that started all of this, he was already in too deep at that point.
The nod from Ariel, though, made him feel strangely at ease. It seemed like he wasn't always a man of words but somehow, it almost felt like that was enough. Like he had had a speech to go along with it. Rhys knew, without him having to say it, that he wouldn't ever do that again. If he did, Amadeus wouldn't have been able to hold him back.
There seemed to be a pause between the first part of what his mentor said and the second, green eyes going wide as he sat forward a bit. "B-but you-" He was busy. He had been about to say it out loud but then he remembered what Joseph had said. He wasn't the only one to blame and he just had to accept it. It wasn't always on his shoulders, even if he did feel that way. Of course, that didn't mean it wasn't a surprise. He didn't quite miss the look on Ariel's face.
"I-I'm sorry. I'll do better in the future." He wasn't that little weak creature that had curled in on himself, only able to reach out for the older Tremere's shoe anymore. He need to prove it, not just to himself, but to Amadeus himself.
