Joseph had been Embraced when he was thirty-two, a decade older than Rhys most likely. He would have never come to America as more than a tourist or in exile if he hadn't accepted his sire's offer. That was simply the nature of life. But he also believed nearly everything happened for a reason. Their encounter at Elysium was definitely Fate as far as Joseph was concerned.
Well, there had been gentle and sweet. And rough and dirty. One did not find out what they liked by trying one thing and stopping there. Kindred weren't exactly gentle, sweet creatures by nature. But some of them maintained their personalities in unlife, no matter how old they were. Ash was at least a century older than Joseph and much softer.
He didn't expect Rhys to start spouting eternal devotion or even lovesick prose. Joseph imagined he was still a little in shock. He could be overwhelming, especially with a new lover that spoke to his heart. That sweet smile and his humble words were more than enough.
"I have a few hours before I have to get up and get ready for tonight's show," he told Rhys. "So I may try to seduce you again. Fair warning."
