There wasn’t another word to the two blood dolls, and maybe if he were focused on them more than he was, he might have said goodbye. Maybe he could thank them later. For now, he was being led through a room with a keycard - then another. What kind of security did his sire have in the haven? Maybe he should talk to Amadeus tomorrow about it, about doing wards.
What was beyond those electric doors? Rhys had never seen a place like it. He had thought Henry’s house had been something interesting but he honestly didn’t know what to look at first. The skylight that was letting in star and moon light seemed to take most of his attention as his fingers slipped from Joseph’s. He could look at it all night. Well, all night if there weren’t other things to focus on. He’d already moved on into what could only be the bedroom, but the younger man hesitated for a moment. Bold had been something he was doing well tonight but this was something else.
If the skylight had been impressive, it had absolutely nothing on the appearance of the bedroom. This one room was probably filled with more interesting looking things than Rhys’ entire haven. But again, the decor wasn’t what he was focusing on.
As he stepped through the door, he paused to slip off his own shoes, leaving them there, out of the way, and walked over to the bed, coming to stop in front of Joseph, close enough to grab if wanted. “You’ve touched me.” Not the way he wanted to. There was a pause before he was moving his arms to pull out of the jacket, letting it fall behind him to the floor. Normally it would have bothered him quite a bit, but the things making his chest tight didn’t have anything to do with his cleaning habits.
