As amusing as pretending to be a Ventrue was, sometimes, Garnet couldn't find the time tonight. Even though she promised to make an appearance at a dinner party, of sorts. The Kindred only had one kind of 'dinner' party and something just wasn't into the thought of it tonight. She found herself missing a certain he-who-shall-not-be-named and those kind of things were his favorite. Like sire, like daughter, or something like that? If asked bluntly, she would deny any such connection to the great deserter, but it was true, nonetheless. Even with all her anger with him, Garnet looked back at those first few years with a sense nostalgia, whether painful and tainted or not.
Normally, she'd let inspiration take her but tonight? Tonight, her boots were made for walking. The where of it didn't quite matter, not really, but she'd be back in time for bedtime. Would it be so terrible to stay out all night like this? Who was there to watch her? Certainly not old what's his name!
Deliberating over an outfit was usually something that was given quite a large amount of attention but tonight, only black would do. She normally always wore something bright, sometimes painful to the eyes, but she wanted to actually blend in, for once. Shocker. Even her gorgeous auburn hair was pulled up into plain pony behind the back of her head. The only point of her normal self were the slightly above the knee stiletto boots. Soft, black leather with a slight sparkle. They weren't quite what people would call 'walking boots' but they were her favorite and most comfortable. The fact that she'd had them she was still kine had nothing to do with that. Absolutely not.
After leaving, almost nobody bothered her. Some may have looked her way, but having Presence was a handy thing, even though she wasn't using it as she normally would. Attention just wasn't what she wanted so when someone finally spoke up to her, she stopped still in her tracks. Seems as if she had gotten a lot further than she had thought. Where, exactly, was she? That was a problem for future Garnet. Instead of acting the shocked deer, she turned a smile at the woman who had spoken, instantly recognizing her kindred status. "I wasn't trying to be sneaky, darling, just taking a stroll around the place." Her voice didn't show it but she was already sizing the other up. She wasn't one for fighting. Well. With her fists, anyway. If she had to, she could use her heels. "I'm sorry if I startled you." Almost too sweet, the way she spoke.
