Not being entirely at fault, he didn't know if he agreed with that. If he had done this or that better, maybe a lot of the stuff that had happened wouldn't have. As for not eating properly, he still didn't. After seeing what he could be, he had been afraid to go out on his own to test himself. Again, he could have asked for help, reached out and asked, but he had once again chosen to not do that. He couldn't do it all on his own, that was obvious, but he also didn't want to cling to people anymore.
If he could still blush, he probably would have. The fact he had a pretty face wasn't something he didn't know - he just ignored that fact most of the time. Something he tried to hide with too big clothes, a hood over his hair and face when he could. When she pulled away, though, he looked down a bit to her face, to catch her expression. That part shouldn't bother him, he was a vampire. But it did, a little bit. A small bit.
"Quick." Learning and holding onto knowledge wasn't his problem. Unlike when Tris had touched him, Mab doing it was something more comfortable, something that didn't make him immediately want to run the other way.
