It was just as well that Ariel took the choice away because in the mood Amadeus was in he would have been cruel and made Rhys go wait for them while they fed. And right now, even after he fed, there wasn't a promise of his mood improving. Not where Rhys was currently concerned anyway. He needed time to cool off before he saw his ward again.
Amadeus's eyes were still fixed on the fledgling, watching for any other signs of weakness to zero in on and use to against him. As much as Rhys wanted to escape it was likely not a good idea for him to move past the two older Kindred first. And with Ariel telling him to go home was good enough of a dismissal for Amadeus. He turned his attention to his lover instead, tugging him closer.
"Let's find someone else to eat." At this point, he'd settle for the easy prey of a blood doll just to take the edge off. It didn't matter where the blood came from as long as he got to sink his fangs into hot, fresh blood. He didn't even give Rhys a second look as they left him standing there to find him out way out and home.
