Rook wasn't any more prepared for the sheer want that suddenly burned in him at Ash's touch against his bare skin than he had been for anything else. It was unlike anything else he had felt before. Sure, he enjoyed being with Mab but this was different and it shocked and surprised Rook simply because he had never wanted someone like this before and he didn't think it possible for it to happen this quickly. Animal magnetism he supposed. Or a sign that he was right in his choice. After all one should have this reaction to the one they wanted to court to mate shouldn't they?
The fact that they were out on the street was probably Rook's only saving grace. And thank goodness there wasn't a wall to back Ash up against as they kissed. Still, Rook couldn't help but tighten his hold on Ash a little, the tips of his claws just lightly pressing into his skin.
