He could see the indecision as the wolf moved. Give chase or stay and keep Ash safe? He really didn't need it but he appreciated it nonetheless. So he waited as the wolf made the rounds and made sure the Anarchs were really gone. Ash silently composed a message to the Sheriff in his head. He didn't exactly want to start a hunt on Anarchs but this was ridiculous. Ash wasn't arrogant enough to believe they were suffering in the same ways but right now, they should have at least tried to be on the same side.
Ash knelt down as the wolf that was Rook approached. He held out his hand, fingers folded in just in case but Rook just nudged it and Ash gave a hint of a smile. He sank his fingers into thick, rough fur, "Thank you for the assistance, Rook." He rubbed that spot every animal seemed to like just between the eyes. "But now I need you to become a man again. Come back to me," his words were gentle, coaxing, but he was unsure if it would work. How far gone was he right now?
