Walk down the street, life threatened. Rhys hadn't even taken a step, not like he had wanted, and the other was circling him, making him feel like prey being circled by a shark. Honestly, from what he knew of vampires already, the comparison wasn't all that far off. Sharp teeth, hunters, excited by fresh blood. As his eyes were cast on the ground he didn't see the softening look in the other kindred's face, but he saw those boots. The outfit wasn't something he'd really seen on any of the others he'd met but he only knew a handful of other vampires personally at this point.
Would they pass on and leave him be? Maybe, maybe not. The best spell he knew right now was how to heat up blood without a microwave. If he was attacked, it would be a really easy fight -
But then the other spoke to him, seemingly not leaving and bothering to speak to him instead. Without a real thought, Rhys let himself look up, slowly, towards the stranger's face, remembering how he had promised he would work on everything. He'd promised Amadeus and he promised Henry. But standing in front of someone you knew and someone you didn't were completely different things. Even so, he managed it, green eyes looking up into pale ones that had to be contacts. Right?
"I-I am looking for someone but my phone died." Not as many hesitations as there would be normally. He was doing at least a little better, even if the claws at his throat didn't feel the same.
