Anastasia leveled Ash with a look that said she didn't care if telling someone you were leaving wasn't abandonment. It was still abandonment of a kind to her and that was all that mattered. Still, she didn't hesitate when Ash patted the seat and held out his arms. She sat down next to him and melted into his arms like a dramatic diva.
"It's my own fault I suppose. I molded him into the creature he was and it was only a matter of time before he outgrew this city. Outgrew me. They all leave us sooner or later don't they?" It felt like the true curse of being a Toreador. "I suppose I should just be grateful that a childer of mine has managed to achieve so much." At least one of her childer had. The other had been such a disappointment.
