Sometimes just getting away from the Mansion was as refreshing as a garden in bloom; it just gave Rogue that extra boost to actually do something. She'd finally convinced Scott (and subsequently Mystique) that she was a big girl now, and could plan her own exercise regime, thank you very much, just as efficiently as either of them could.
And at the moment, this yoga class was exactly what she needed to clear her head and give her back the relaxation techniques necessary for caging her mother. Following aimlessly to the instructor's calm voice, she enjoyed the slow pace of the class, and stretching out into downward dog, she smiled to herself. God, Ah have got ta get out more
It was a truth universally acknowledged that no one, no one, looks good in downward dog - Bruce was finding this out with amusement the more classes he went to. Which for the moment wasn't many, but it was one way at least to get him out of S.H.I.E.L.D. that didn't involve being ordered to go spend some time out of his labcoat. He'd asked where he should go, exactly - he was meant to be living on S.H.I.E.L.D. property after all, considering the security threat he could pose. And he had to admit it was at least somewhat relaxing.
It'd been a while but Rogue found her body conforming to the positions with much more ease than she'd anticipated. Looking around the room, she saw lots of people struggling and by the time they were into warrior one position, she kinda felt bad for some of them, especially for the one right next to her. The instructor was busy with others, so she leaned over and whispered, "Y'all look like ya could use some help."
Bruce chuckled and glanced up. "If I don't look like I'm about to die then that's an improvement on last week," he told her. "You mind?"
"Not at all, it's why Ah asked," she said, coming over to his side. Reacing out with a gloved hand, she corrected his arm position. "Your stance is good at least, that helps put the rest o' your inta position." Stepping back, she nodded with a smile. "There. Much better."
He have her a grateful smile. "I did some martial arts," he told her. "Not much, but I think it helps. I think this is my third class."
She nodded. "Martial arts definitely give one an advantage. All about knowing where your body is and all that wonderful jazz." Stepping back to her old position, but still close enough to talk without disturbing anyone else, she continued. "And how are y'all likin' it? Yoga can be an acquired taste."
"Seems to help me relax," he said, with a quick smile in her direction. "That's important for me." Of course, he wasn't exactly going to tell her why. Hou about you?
She hesitated before answering. How do you tell a complete stranger that yogi breathing techniques helped control the former masses in her head but now it was just a good way to get her mother to shut up? Instead, she simply smiled. "Sounds about the same for me. Relaxing. Ah live in a boarding school, and trust me, with all the students around? Ain't very conducive to a quiet environment, if'n you know what Ah mean."
