She hadn't intended to come at all. In fact, the minute Tony had come barrelling into her office, breathless about some disaster in Samoa, she'd assumed that she'd be stuck behind, worrying about him and the others. Instead, she'd been told to hurry up, get in the damn helicarrier and be thankful she'd been sent for first aid training.
Bruce had been in there with her, and she was thankful that at least someone had medical training. When they reached the site, it was all Pepper could do to stop herself from wanting to cry. Destruction everywhere. Children crying. What the hell did she just walk into?
Following Bruce out into the hospital, all she saw was chaos. Clearly, some organization needed to take place. Before she could turn and voice that to Bruce however, Frank would appear. Oh Lord. .
"I believe there hasn't been a set order of command." she said, trying to keep her emotions in check. They'd never really discussed anything about their relationship, and she wasn't about to go out and disclose anything about it. There was a time for personal business and a time for professionalism. Now was a time to be professional. "We only just arrived, and I'm pleased to see there's a few adept medics here. If you'll be so kind as to wait until I speak with Colonel Fury, I'm sure we can figure out exactly what is needed to be done."
