He took the abuse willingly, needing it to feel human again as he leaned into Sirius and closed his eyes. His hunger to learn medicine still sat strong in him, but fear was potent in his stomach, filling his body up as he tried not to imagine how terrible it would be if the other man left him. Being apart from Sirius for just a few hours had been the most terrible hours in his life- not only because of his time with the other werewolves, but also because his best mate wasn’t there anymore. He hide his face into the other’s neck and took in that peppermint scent he loved so much, not wanting to leave.
But he wanted Sirius to stay, and that included feeding the man and getting him warm. And taking that blasted uniform off as he slowly stood and helped Sirius up. His dinner was almost untouched on the desk, and he brought it over to the Sirius as he opened the closet and got out his pajamas. “I’ll be right back,” he said, saying it firmly as if it were a promise as he turned into the bathroom. His hands reached down and dragged his clothes off slowly as he kept listening for sounds of Sirius still being in his room, coming out moments later in his red pjs that were the same style he’d worn since first year as he let his green uniform hang magically with a flick of his wand.
"I know... I just want-" he began, feet cold on the tiles as he finally spat out what he was trying to say. "You were right. About how I should have stayed, and I know that you won't understand that I don't regret it all. I want... medical school so badly Remus. But I hate... I hate being around them. The werewolves".
