Gellert's eyes flickered back up to Remus's face. "Don't thank me," he said, allowing Remus the smallest of smiles. "It was not a compliment. Simply a statement of fact."
At last, Gellert slid his hand out from beneath Remus's own and tilted his head away to look up at the ceiling. For a moment, he said nothing at all. He let the seconds drag out before he finally spoke, his voice soft, little more than a whisper.
"You may go," he said. "I am sure you have your studies to attend to, after all...."
