"But they listened to yours," Gellert reminded him. "And yours was the only one that made a difference."
It had been ten minutes since Albus had left the room to attend a brief meeting; he would not be back for an hour yet. Though it was hardly something that the two of them had not already discussed, though perhaps they had discussed it in a more...specific context. A context that was at least two weeks in Gellert's future.
But to build the appropriate tension...Gellert would scarcely need to justify it to Albus. And he would tell him, of course. In the spirit of making Albus feel included. As though Gellert was always honest with him.
"That uniform looks well on you," Gellert said after a long pause, his voice softer than before.
