"If I happen to fall, catching me will be the least of your worries," Kastra countered, giving Regulus a playfully pointed look as she followed him through the halls. When they emerged from the castle, Kastra was pleased by the warmth that greeted them. Now that summer was approaching, Kastra looked forward to being able to spend more time outside - assuming that she'd have the time and ability to enjoy the weather, given the mess of her situation. She had to hand it to Regulus; it was a good evening for flying.
Still, she couldn't help the little flutter in her stomach at the thought of being in the air - it had been a while since she last flew, and those moments before taking off always made her a little nervous. It was also slightly unnerving that this would be the first time she and Regulus would be alone. During class or in the Great Hall, they were always around other students, but as they walked, Kastra was painfully aware of the lack a crowd around them. With the exception of her parents, she was unaccustomed to dealing with people outside of structured social atmospheres. It was easy to engage in banter and hold a stimulating conversation when other people could serve as buffers or distractions, but being alone was another matter. Kastra wasn't used to friendships that existed outside of social functions and the necessary day-to-day interactions.
Kastra fell quiet, wondering what exactly she hoped to accomplish by going on this outing.
