Characters: The Black Boys (Orion, Regulus, Sirius) Date: September 21, 1999 - Afternoon Location: London (The new storefront for Bindings) Rating: PG-13 for some horrible language flying around. Summary: After over 20 years of no real contact, Sirius and Regulus are suddenly face to face with Orion in the middle. Status: Complete
Sitting on the dusty counter top of his brand new shop, Sirius took a quick look around and suddenly found himself wishing to never see another book again in his lifetime. There were crates and crates of them everywhere, stacked two deep and mocking him openly. While some of the crates were marked with the nature of their contents, many were not and all of them were out of order. It was a huge mess, and one that would require a lot of hours to deal with if one wanted it done properly. Not to mention the shelves were still sitting pushed back against the walls, and he had no idea how to even use the things in the small coffee bar in the far back.
To say that it was slow going was a lie, it was going terribly, but he would be damned if he asked Remus to leave the apothecary (an actual paying job) to help him out. He had enlisted Orion, but so far his son was nowhere to be scene. Perhaps he'd go to Harry and his friends, they'd probably be interested in helping for a bit of money, and once things were set up he could ask them if they'd like to stay on as employees so he wouldn't have to deal with the mechanical issues going on with the machinery required to make drinks.
Sirius was beginning to wonder how muggles lived. Dealing with things like espresso machines and light switches were not his forte, and he was longing for his plain old completely magical shop in Diagon Alley.
There was nothing for it, however, and so he slid off the counter and pried the lid off a crate. Hiding a wizarding shop inside of a muggle one was a daft idea, and hard work, and he was starting to hate himself a bit for even thinking it up.
