The light shone between the cracks under the floorboards, and Orion stood up and jerked Caradoc back quickly. It began to move, heading towards the hole they'd made. The floor began to buck and shake and there was a noise then, like a train rushing towards them, loud and keen. "I don't know! Get down!"
He jerked Doc back into the furthest corner and got down, watching as the light exploded out of the hole and rose above it, floating there. It was bright, like a star that had come down whole and round and perfect, floating a about four feet off the ground and rotating slowly. He could see something in the center, and he let out a sharp breath of air.
