Remus moved his hand up to stroke Sirius's hair, a small smile on his face as he heard of the new-found appreciation. He had heard many times of their sympathy and had always been grateful for their patience with him, but he knew that none of them truly understood what it was like for him around the moon; only other werewolves knew, and there was no point in complaining to each other about something that couldn't be changed. As much as he didn't like the idea of Sirius having to go through even a little of what he had become accustomed to, it still touched him to know that now Sirius empathized with him rather than just felt sorry for him.
"This will come back, this is true, but in time you'll learn how to handle it, how to anticipate it, and once the shock has gone away it won't be as overwhelming. We can always think up ways for you to channel this into something else; maybe that might make it better." He hugged Sirius tighter to him, sighing. This shouldn't have happened, not to Sirius. "I wish I knew how to make it all go away, to make the aches and pains and extra energy melt away. I never wanted you to ever be able to understand."
