Harry was standing outside The Leaky Cauldron in a pair of jeans and a hooded sweatshirt looking, for all the world, like just another muggle teenager looking to get into trouble. A few passing older women gave him dirty looks, one with an American accent even telling him to go cut his hair and try some jazz instead of rock music, a sentiment that wasn't quite as amusing once she followed it up with "Those colored folks are at least good for a bit of music." He understood a lot about the muggle world but didn't think he'd ever understand muggle foreigners, and he definitely wasn't sure what people involved in body painting had to do with jazz.
Right after that, a homeless man with a rather angry little dog asked him if he happened to have twenty-five pence, and when Harry handed him a one pound note the man praised him rather loudly and assured him he would have a place with the chosen when the Rapture came. Once his ratty little poodle stopped barking and the man moved on, Harry was accosted a third time by two girls who recognized him from the university campus.
He didn't know their names and only vaguely recognized them but he didn't mind talking to them, finding out that he must have met them in his Introduction to Biology course since they'd had the same professor. They were charming enough girls but he wasn't really sure if he wanted them around when Orion showed up, given the other boy's skills at irking every female Harry seemed to know. Unfortunately they were still there when he spotted Orion coming down the street, so he just hoped for the best and braced himself for the worst.
