Izzy thinking that no hug was off limits was exactly what he'd been aiming for. He knew that he probably wasn't more than a favorite uncle to her, and really, he'd never really even liked kids all that much before she came along. However, cute little girls belonging to a woman he was crazy about tended to have that effect on a person. Izzy had totally stolen his heart and he wanted nothing more to be there for her. Granted, it was a little more than awkward when Kenneth had arrived and had started playing for his team, however, the two had actually become friends over it. If only if it had started as a pure frustration at a common McLaggen problem.
"Pink?" he said squinting and raising an eye brow. "Oh, I hope your mum took pictures of that." he said with a bit of a laugh, figuring if his cousin had been involved than that would explain quite a bit. He loved Lavender, he really did, but sometimes he wasn't sure where she got her ideas from. "But that's good. I'm glad it's still up there. Never know when players will just make me rip it all out." he said as if this wasn't really a real thing.
He pulled out a chair for her and scooted her in before taking a seat himself. "That's a good point, still, I would have liked to be here from the jump." he said trying to be reassuring. Paddy let out a laugh at that. "Are you absolutely sure I brought you back something?" he teased her, knowing full well there was a present sitting back at his house for little Izzy right now. Paddy leaned back in his chair a bit. "Not bad. The Lions were all over him, but he fought through it. He keeps playing like that, he'll be over here before too much longer." he said with a hint of pride in his voice, though, in all honestly, he would have no idea how to deal with it.
"But enough about me. Tell me everything. How are you doing? Which boy do I need to watch out for and run back ground checks on," which...probably wasn't far from the truth considering he still had a lot of connections to his old job. "do I actually win a title with my team?" that last one came out clearly as a joke. In all honesty, he didn't want to know that. He liked the chase like that.
