Paddy laughed a little as she all but launched herself at him and squeezed her a little tighter at the end of the hug. It felt a little strange considering he'd hugged the much smaller version of her not that long ago, but hey, he wasn't complaining. If he got to get a glimpse into conversations that they'd get to have in the future, that was good enough for him. Paddy was really not a hugging, overly affectionate sort, it was just how he was raised. But when it came to Izzy...that was another story. She was different and could have all the hugs she wanted. Yeah, it had taken him a good while to really get used to it, but...he was past that now.
"No such thing. You're all grown up and gorgeous." he said giving her a quick kiss on the top of her head. "Just tell me I don't lose all of my hair in the future and we'll call it square, deal?" he said smiling a little wider as he offered up his arm to her. Honestly, he didn't care much about that, but it seemed like a good thing to say at the moment.
"Of course, let's get out of the chill." he said as he held the door open for her and lead her in. He'd called ahead and gotten them a reservation and a nice table near the back so that way they could talk and just have a nice low key evening. "Sorry I couldn't be here right from when you arrived." he really did feel like he needed to apologize for that. He'd already apologized to her mother a few times for that as well, and checking in with her to make sure she was hanging in there okay as well. "I was in Bordeaux watching Craig play." One of the few people that he'd actually admit that too. It still felt too risky to go watch his half-brother play, their relationship had mended quite a bit, but there was a part of him that still feared what his father might do if he found out.
