"Oh I agree, I think she'll think you've lost it." he said as he let out a little bit of a laugh, taking a small teasing shot at her when he could. Yeah, this was much better than the awkward. So much better than the awkward. And moments like this he was glad that he didn't just push her out completely like he'd wanted to do at times after they'd broken up. It was hard to become friends with your ex, he knew that, and sometimes it was just better to let them go. Right now, he was glad that he didn't listen to his past self completely.
"That's why they pay me top dollar." he said with a bit of a smirk on his face walking that delicate line between serious and not, leaning a bit more towards not. He knew why they did, he wasn't one of those blokes who sat around wondering why he was in the position he was. Straton knew that, and he was damn proud of it. Start just sort of raised an eyebrow at that response, completely unsure of what to make of it, so he just let it go. He wasn't in the mood for analytics at the moment.
"So nothing exciting really happening to you either then?" he teased a little bit, knowing that was at least a little bit far from the truth.
