After a rare loss the day before, Alicia wasn't really in the best mood. Hell, she would barely even grunt at Roger when she saw him that morning in the kitchen. Even though that really wasn't fair as the Falcons had lost as well. She never had been good at losing and right now was no exception. She'd taken the day to go to her families home in Bath and go riding for a while to clear her mind. She'd almost stayed for dinner but knew she needed to grab something from the Quidditch store for herself, Katie and Angelina as a cheer up we'll get back into the groove sort of thing for this weeks first practice. The store closed at 7:30 on Sunday night, she always was thankful for that and curious why they'd stay open so late. When she'd asked she was told it was because of people like her that stopped by late on Sunday for something for the weak.
The problem with going into the store was she always ended up leaving with a lot more than she'd originally planned. Today was no exception. She'd started out with just the little trinkets for herself and fellow chasers but ended up with something for all of the team, plus a nifty little diagram thing they'd just gotten in for planning moves. She thanked Oliver Parkins as she paid and shrunk everything to fit inside of the over the shoulder purse she had with her that day.
It wasn't until she was just about out of the store that she heard a loud crashing sound and spun around to see the blazing fire leaping out from the walls. Spinning on the heels of her boots she pulled her wand out dropping down to the floor casting spells that would normally freeze or put out a fire, but this wasn't normal fire. It reacted as though those were accelerants rather than.... She tried a couple of other things but realized nothing was actually stopping it and people were still instead. She cast a small shield around her to allow her to walk through a normal fire and darted into the building levitating someone and managing to get them out. As she rushed back in she felt a case fall onto her left shoulder. The pain was impossible to even comprehend. Glass shooting through her skin, as the bones couldn't take the weight. She crumbled to the ground screaming. Fear set in at that moment as she forced herself to focus and get herself out from under whatever it was. She managed to use a blasting spell on it, but it only moved far enough for her to pull out her crushed arm.
Staggering to her feet she glanced around as the fires turned from orange towards a green, it was just getting hotter and hotter. Her eyes were stinging as she saw the body of the manager on the floor with what looked like hexes that killed him, instead of the fire. She used her good arm to grab one of his as she tried to pull him out of the shop. Her sense of direction was failing but she could hear shouting from what she could only assume was outside. Alicia shoved that way but dropped the managers arm as she saw someone curled up shaking and crying by the broom display. "WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE!" Alicia screamed. She tried to run towards the woman, but her body felt like it was going to crash and she was coughing too much to really get a sense of what was happening. "Get it together." She muttered to herself. She'd fought in the battle, she could manage to get this one other person out.
When Alicia finally reached her she pulled her with her good arm. The fear in the woman's eyes didn't help Alicia's own fear but she pushed it down as she used her good arm to support her. She managed to work her way towards the door, pulling the woman with her. She didn't dare look around the shop anymore. As Alicia managed to pull herself and the woman towards the door she felt arms reaching for her from the cool outdoors.
The next thing she knew, she was laying down on a cot of some sort a good distance away, with someone frantically trying to do something to her shoulder. Sitting up quickly she felt a rush of pain to her shoulder, her left leg and her head. "I have to go - there are pe-"
"You need to sit right here and let me try and do what I can before we get you to St. Mungo's." The voice told her as hand gently pushed her back down.
The next thing Alicia knew, she was blinking due to bright lights of St. Mungo's. She felt as though her head was floating on clouds. She could barely really feel anything and her mind couldn't focus on anything. She tried to make out faces but she drifted back to sleep as she heard "--You said she pulled someone--"
It must have been a while later, Alicia really couldn't tell time, when she woke again. There was a nurse in her room checking something. Her shoulder was in some sort of cast and while she could tell it was healing she could tell it was still in too much pain. "Where is that girl? Is she okay?" Was the first thing she said as she used her good arm (although it had some minor burns on it that were nearly healed). Her next words. "I'll play again right?" It might sound selfish, but it was easier to focus on her career than it was what had happened.
