Of course, that was just like Elle, acting innocent as she told their father things that Alicia wasn't ready to talk about. The look on her fathers face was puzzled, and Alicia just shut her eyes for a moment and smiled.
"I thought you two were just friends." Tristan Spinnet said as he looked at his middle daughter.
Alicia decided the best way to handle this was to handle it straight on. "Actually, things are a little different right now. " She said rather matter of fact. "We're seeing where things are going right now." That was the best answer she could come up with at that moment. She wasn't really ready to do the whole I think this could turn serious conversation thing. Instead she just decided to say what was really honest. "And yeah, I really do like him." She said before her father could ask.
Her father gave her a curious look for a moment and shrugged. "Well." Alicia knew he was going to say something about Roger. "I thought you and Roger were always going to end up dating."
"Roger is just my best mate, nothing more." Alicia said for what must have been the hundredth time. "Besides, Mac gets me."
The look Tristan gave Alicia was a confusing one, Alicia wouldn't read it, which made her nervous. "Well, in that case, I hope it works out for you."
That was the best Alicia could hope for in this situation and she knew it.
