Who: Makayla and Tegan What: Playing hooky When: June 20, Monday; An hour after this Where: An outdoor gallery Rating: Low
Having an hour to do as she pleased was Heavenly. Although all she really did in that time was shower and get into an outfit that was comfortable to walk in as well as keeping herself from wanting to pass out because of the random heat wave. Summer was around the corner, no doubt about that. Wearing grey and black probably wasn’t the best thing to do with the blazing sun dancing in the sky on this fabulous Monday afternoon, but that’s all the woman had in her closet. Color had to drain from her clothing when it did from her personality.
She put on minimal make-up to look presentable before putting her hair up in a loose bun. Now came the moment where she stood there and stared at herself in the mirror. It was hard for her to see herself like she was now (hence why there was only one mirror in the whole apartment and that was in the bathroom). She looked away after standing there for a few seconds and tried to figure out an excuse as to why she couldn’t make it to gallery with Tegan. But doing that would show weakness, and she wasn’t weak.
Taking in a deep breath while leaning over the sink, she tapped her fingers against the edge and did what she could to push herself away from it and walk out of the apartment and meet at the spot the man gave her over the phone. She took a taxi instead of driving her own car – no point in doing that if she was going to walk with Tegan or take some kind of vehicle to the outside gallery.
Just get it done and over with and life will go back to the way you want it to, she thought to herself as she saw the newsstand that Tegan was speaking about, looking this way and that to see if she spotted him or not while she crossed the street to get to it. If she had to wait, she would wait. For as long as her legs wanted to stand there, though.
