However many times she has to sing this song, it’s going to be stuck in her head the rest of the day (which isn’t all that bad). It was one of her songs, after all. Whatever was going on with the microphone, Cat wanted it fixed before the day was through. This was the fourth time now that it crapped out on her while in the middle of singing. And now she was left to wait and wait and… well… wait. She really wasn’t the type of girl to be patient with things like this. She was here to practice, and if she can’t practice, well, what was the point of her being here today? She could have been sleeping! Or better yet, running off with someone and doing something instead of sitting on the stage and kicking her legs back and forth.
Earlier in the day, she had an outfit fitting. Making sure the dress she designed fit perfectly. Of course another fitting will happen before the PEM event, because who knows if she’ll pack on extra pounds or get rid of some. Whichever way her weight decided to go, the dress needed to be ready for some minor alterations. So her impatient behavior right now was allowed.
Someone from the sounds crew was walking by and Cat quickly stopped him to ask what was going on. The guy had no idea where the two with the microphone went. He didn’t even know the microphone wasn’t working! Cat stood there blinking at the guy as if he just popped out of the ground. He went off, leaving her there to look utterly dumbfounded.
“Seriously? I work with idiots! Doesn’t anyone look at I.D.s these days?” she really wasn’t asking anyone, but people did stop what they were doing and looked in her direction. The two who were “supposedly” fixing her microphone were fans and ran off with it. Later on in the day she’ll think it was the silliest thing anyone could have done. But, right now, she was beyond pissed and could use something – or someone – to help her out of this little rut of anger.
