WHO: Glory and Gio
WHAT: Gio finally summons the courage to … email her!
WHEN: Sunday, April 10
RATING: Low.
Glory was online. Gio had been signed into his instant messenger for about an hour, and Glory's name had appeared on his buddy list not too long afterward. His hand had itched to pull up a blank message so he could contact her, but he didn't want to be too forward. She had given him her contact information, but it had been under the context of talking about troubles. Gio had those, but the last thing he wanted to do was bombard her with them. At the same time, Gio had been worrying about Glory since their conversation over the journals, and he had enjoyed their coffee meeting even if he'd been the most awkward human being alive during most of it.
Sadly, Gio didn't even open an IM window before he decided that it was not in his best interest to contact her that way. It was so … instant. And if she didn't want to talk to him, she'd have to go through the trouble of either enduring it or blocking him, and if she blocked him he'd never be able to tell when she was online again. He would ruin his chance.
Gio tapped his laptop thoughtfully as he watched his buddy list. Now that he'd firmly decided to leave Glory alone, he should get on some homework. He even pulled up his textbook on his e-reader and typed in the correct chapter location, but when he began to read he realized he was glancing at his computer screen more often than he should have. Even after he moved away from his desk and sat on the bed, he'd glance up every time he heard someone get online or off.
It was ridiculous.
Maybe, just to make sure he didn't waste all his time that night, he could send Glory an email. She didn't have to reply instantly to that, or even at all. There was no pressure. They'd talked via email before, too. It was a good solution to his problem … and he did have something specific to talk to her about, anyway. Something he hadn't gotten to when they'd met for coffee.
Subject: This is Gio Sanfilippo.
Glory,
Hi, I realized I wanted to bring something up to you when we met for coffee, but I forgot to. I hope you don't mind the random email.
I got a bonus for finding you in the morgue and I was wondering if you would mind if I spent it on something for you. I haven't touched the money yet and don't think I ever will, so it would be better if it went to something you could enjoy. Or, if you want, I could just give it to you.
That's all. I'm sorry if this might have helped you before.Your friend,
Gio
