"Vampires in my world are different." Caroline said. And they definitely seemed that way to her, compared to how they were in his. They could eat food, they were almost normal...especially if they had a daylight ring. But for the moment, she didn't mention that to him. She didn't know him well enough yet. He seemed like he didn't mind, but she couldn't be sure.
"Cheers." She said, sadly. She forced a smile. She really was trying to stay positive here, but it was so hard.
Caroline finished off her drink, setting the glass back on the table. For a moment, she just looked at him with a sad silence. "I...always knew I'd lose my mom." She said, carefully. She took in a deep breath. "I'm immortal, she wasn't. I just didn't think I'd be losing her when I was twenty." She shook her head, turning away from him for a moment.
"I'm sorry, I'm really putting a damper on this party, huh? I need a refill."
