Caroline had practically lived at the bar since she got here. And that was not an exaggeration. If she wasn't working, and the bar was open...that's where she was. It wasn't a great way of dealing with things, but it was better than flipping her humanity switch. For now. She was still contemplating that, but trying to remain strong. There was still too much unknown here.
For the most part, Caroline did her very best not to think about her mother's death. When she was here, she could even have pretended that her mother was still alive back home. She shook her head, waiting on Sirius to show up. It was always better to drink with someone else than by herself. She hoped he liked day drinking as much as she did.
"No, I hardly leave here." She said, smiling at him. He would probably think she was joking. He looked young. Maybe the same age she'd been when she was turned. "I'm Caroline, and it's good to meet you. Even better to drink with you." She had to be honest about that. He was cute, and she thought he was one of those guys that knew that. Like Tyler. Another thing she shouldn't be thinking about right now.
"Full disclosure? My mom died of cancer just before I got here, and alcohol helps numb the pain." But it didn't make it go away, no. Nothing did that. Well one thing would, but she kept holding off. Maybe the optimist in Caroline Forbes was desperately trying to find a reason not to flip her switch. Pathetic.
